Sprinkler Tuneup

The city of Phoenix calculates your monthly sewer fee by the average water usage billed from January to March each year.

Whether it is about saving money on a water bill, a sewer bill, ensuring your plants have the correct amount of water, or just realizing we all live in the desert, now is a great time to have your irrigation system checked out.

Leaks

Check the system for any obvious leaks and missing emitters. Many drip systems develop cracks in the line or missing emitters from the freezing of the lines during hard winter months.

Coverage

Many irrigation systems may have had emitters placed around the plant when it was planted. These lines were installed to ensure the plant had the ability to grow and take root. However, once established, many plants simply do not require any further watering. Now is a great time to check your system for any trimming of coverage.

Wet Feet

Sometimes the emitter head or even watering times are too much for the plant. You may have set your timer to water frequently when planting the winter lawn. Now is the time to cut back to only the amount necessary. Too much water or soggy roots (wet feet) are just as bad for a plant as not enough water.

Rebates

Many Arizona cities offer rebates for acts of water conservation. Anything from installing low flow toilets, to filling in swimming pools rarely used or loosing your love affair with that lawn, rebates up to $1500 may be available.
